WARNING! Too much inspiration to handle.

I am currently in the process of decorating my bedroom as I am not moving away for uni- so what better time to do an inspiration post. In my young teens I went through the stage of painting my walls bright pink and purple, with one wall dedicated to endless amounts of magazine posters stuck on with blue-tack. Possibly the worst decision I ever had. I have painted my room since with a pale pink colour, which I do not hate, but I certainly do not love- especially some of the ripped off paint from revision posters that made an appearance throughout May and June.

I don't know about you but I hold a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. It's always been something that I was constantly demanded to look at for inspiration when I was at college, which quickly became one of my favourite websites to browse. I always have to remind myself that my bedroom/office/home will never actually look like these images I lust over. (shown above and below), instead it's about taking snippets and placing them in my own space.

For my room I want to include many geometric patterns. (Duvet cover & circle cushion) This includes photo frames which are always something that make a room feel homely. (Blue frame & zig zag frame) I love the initial cushion. They are a piece that will look good in any room. I've had my eye on these hexagonal plant pots for a while, they are simple yet unique. Candles and tea lights are an essential, these pretty holders follow the trend of geometric patterns. (Metal tea light holder & 3 pack candles) Above my bed I want to display a photograph, I especially love Steve Booker's 'Snow on the rockies' photo.

As well as photographs, candles and geometric patterns I wish to include green plants to brighten up the space (Plant 1 & Plant 2) and new hangers which will hopefully make my wardrobe that little more pleasing.

Being someone who is interested in art and design I want to create an office space which is perfect for me. When I say office space I mean part of my bedroom as I do not own a space dedicated to work in. All I know is that I want the wall my desk is facing to be filled with framed art prints and photographs which will all inspire the heck out of me. Personally I believe that the space you work in has to be somewhere that encourages you to make and produce the best work you can.

I especially love the idea of a wire mesh rack with pegs as you can add bits and pieces that you are loving at that certain time.

Terrariums add character to an office space whether that be hanging or not. (Black terrariums & silver terrarium) A sturdy, comfy office chair is a must. (Eames chair) They can be extremely expensive, however it needs to be something that helps your posture and body when you are sitting in front of a screen for hours on end. I have recently bought this one and I can honestly say it was worth every penny- the back is slightly arched so it encourages me to sit more upright instead of slouching down. Art prints are something I definitely want to invest in, they inspire me and can change the feel of a room completely. (Ampersand print & Good Vibes print) Pen holders are also an essential. (Sharpener pen holder) At the moment I currently have them in a draw next to me but I want them to be in easy reach when working. As for lighting I love these Festoon Cafe Lights, they are simple yet retro and you can't go wrong with a white desk lamp. (unknown) I also love this geometric wallpaper/stencil to add character. I will be taking photos of the process and will be updating soon. Be sure to comment below your Pinterest, I would love to check it out.

Visiting Cornwall

Cornwall is honestly one of my favourite places ever to visit - apart from being squashed in the back of a car for 5 hours. When we arrived we explored Perranporth and were mesmerised by its scenic views from the cliff. The majority of the week didn't give us beach-worthy weather so we explored villages including, St.Ives, Portholland, Padstow and Portreath, as well as getting lost down country lanes.

Hello!

Hello!

I thought I would introduce myself briefly instead of delving right in.

I am Olivia, 18 years young and hopefully going to start a Graphic Communication degree in September for 3 years. In the back of my mind the idea of a degree does slightly terrify me in the sense that my knowledge and overall capability will be tested even more so than ever before. However I will be spending my days accomplishing something I am extemely passionate for and take joy in doing... which really doesn't make the idea sound bad at all.

I love Autumn, hot chocolate, having a well coordinated Instagram (haha yep), washi tape, cacti, geometric patterns and interior design.

I don't want to promise any particular posts, but all I know is that I want my blog to consist of creativity. I want this to include my Graphic Design work as well as my current beauty favourites and what I am up to.

Be sure to comment your blog below so I can check it out and have a good snoop around! :-)
